Who Are These Firms?
A Pre-Employment Screening Firm is also referred to as Consumer Reporting Agency (CRA) since they are subject to provisions in the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Plus there are a number of states with more restrictive compliance laws.
These firms perform their services for employers who have first received consent from the subject or applicant. The results in the reports are not warehoused to be resold. This service is often called a background report, but should not be confused with a background investigation as provided by private investigators.
